An overnight stay at the Legendary Y.O. Headquarters provides a touch of the past but with all of the modern comforts of home! We have cabins and rooms to suit everyone’s needs, some of which date back to the 1880’s.  Most have massive stone fireplaces, all have heating and air conditioning.

Charlie III & YO Suite

The Charlie III, Capt. Schreiner’s grandson, was a ranching visionary who saved Texas Longhorn cattle from near extinction and introduced exotic wildlife to the Texas Hill Country landscape. The rustic room is equipped with two queen beds and private bathroom with a shower. This cabin is equipped with a flat screen TX, coffee pot and a sitting area. The Charlie III Cabin connects with the YO Suite which was Kerr County’s first Post Offices and has a day bed, a sitting area and a fireplace. All the rooms at Y.O. Louie Schreiner was a Texas icon whose love of wildlife and children heavily influenced Texas’ game ranching industry. This rustic room with two queen beds a private bathroom with a shower. Travis Room

William Travis was the leader in the Alamo who wrote the famous “Victory or Death” letter to the people of Texas during the siege. This cabin was originally built at Waring, Texas and was the first of the famous Y.O. Ranch restorations of historic Texas buildings.  It was once a place of comfort for stage line travelers between San Antonio and points west. This cabin is comprised of two rooms with a massive stone fireplace.  One room has a queen bed and bath. The second room has 2 twin beds.

The cabin was built by William Bernhardt on a land grant from Prince Solms-Braunfels on a site 2 ½ miles southwest of Fredericksburg.  It is built of 19-inch post oak logs and originally had a small stone cellar used to store food.  This cabin is comprised of two rooms with a massive stone fireplace.  One room has a queen bed and bath.  The second room has 2 twin beds.

The Hey House is the YO’s oldest home and is named after George Hey, one of the long-time ranchhands on the original Y.O. Ranch.  It has 3 bedrooms and one shared bath. Two bedrooms have a queen bed and a twin bed, one bedroom has two twin beds. There is a living room with a fireplace, a kitchen with a dining room, and a sun room. The Hey house is a great house for families.

Named after Jim Bowie, a hero of the Alamo, the Bowie Cabin is a rustic room with two queen beds and private bathroom with a shower. Sam Houston

The Sam Houston Cabin was Kerr Country’s first School House.  Pioneer Texas children studied their ABC’s within these cypress walls which were cut from the nearby Guadalupe River. The cabin has two separate sides to it. One side has a sitting room, bedroom with two queen beds, a bathroom with two showers, and a loft with four twin beds. The other side of the cabin is called the Stagecoach room and it has a queen and twin bed along with a private bath.
